USA WATER POLO ANNOUNCES KEITH WALKER AS THE NEW DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA - USA Water Polo has hired Keith Walker as the new Director of Marketing and Communication. Keith officially began his employment on April 9, working out of the National Training Center in Orange County, CA.
Keith previously served as the Vice President for Marketing and Partnerships with the Anaheim Arsenal, the NBA development club affiliated with the LA Clippers, Portland Trailblazers, and Orlando Magic. Prior to the Arsenal, Keith was Manager of Interactive Marketing for The First American Corporation, where he directed all aspects of internet marketing, including the company's Web site, e-commerce activities, search engine marketing and online advertising.
Keith also managed interactive marketing at New Horizon Computer Learning Centers, and was a Marketing Manager at Scantron Corporation. Possessing a strong editorial background, Keith did a turn as a sportswriter at the Orange County Register early in his career, and also worked as a contributing editor at Pacific Rim Publishing.
A graduate of the University of California at Irvine, Keith played basketball at Cal and UCI on scholarship, where he majored in English. He currently lives in Corona del Mar with his wife, and three children.
As Director of Marketing and Communications, Keith is responsible for securing corporate partnerships and developing USA Water Polo’s brand identity. In his new role, Keith will expand marketing beyond the traditional sponsorship categories to provide marketing tools for local clubs to build membership. He is also charged with implementing a comprehensive communication strategy, including an overhaul of the USAWP Web site and pursuing a more dynamic presence in print and electronic media.
Keith will work out of the new Huntington Beach, CA office beginning April 16, 2007.
