Having earned a hugely impressive draw with reigning champions Germany, the Three Lions scored six past Argentina to make it to the last eight and those results have bred confidence throughout the squad.

Aluko told TheFA.com: "The spirit in the team is fantastic, you can taste the confidence.

"I think now it's like 'Bring it on', obviously we have USA in the quarter finals and everyone is raring to go.

"It's great to be here knowing that we're going into a quarter final with everyone watching back home. This is what we all dream about, I think we have to pinch ourselves sometimes and say 'Wow, we're actually here'.

"This was our goal, to play the biggest teams in the world, and that's what we're going to do on Saturday and I just hope we do ourselves proud, and I believe we can win the game."

Looking back on the previous two performances, Aluko was pleased with both displays.

"Germany are the World Champions and we performed so well we could even have won the game," Aluko explained.

"On Monday it was a fantastic performance. We knew that we couldn't go into the game complacent irrespective of the fact that Argentina lost 11-0 to Germany - that wasn't the point, every game is different.

"We went into it with a professional attitude and got the result we wanted, and we were quite ruthless really."
