27th April : USA beat Amsterdam, 3-1
The USA women's national team travelled to Amstelveen 's Wagner Stadium for their 3rd game of their Netherlands tour to face Amsterdam Hockey Club, (who are currently ranked third in the Dutch Hoofdklasse league below Den Bosch who beat the USA in the Americans second match of the tour.) It was end to end stuff throughout with the USA opening the scoring after 12 minutes with a corner rebound from Sarah Dawson. In the 32nd minute Tiffany Snow drag-flicked another corner off Amsterdam's backboard to give the USA a 2-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Angie Loy and Carrie Lingo broke through the Amsterdam defence back line giving USA Captain Kate Barber the opportunity to make it 3-0 . Amsterdam held off further attacking play with some spectacular goalkeeping until finally getting on the scoreboard with a corner three minutes from the final whistle. Dawson earned the 'Player of the Match' award with for her performance up front. Amsterdam move on to play neighbouring rivals Pinoke in their last league match of the season on Sunday, while the US team will train prior to a rematch with the Dutch national team on Tuesday night.
