PALO ALTO (NCAA Women's) - Freshman Kayla Pedersen upstaged Team USA star Candace Wiggins on Wednesday, scoring 18 points to lead No. 5 Stanford to a 96-61 win over San Francisco.
Wiggins played a supporting role with 13 points for the Cardinal (6-1), who were able to rest their starters in the second half of a blowout game.
Only playing 20 minutes, Pedersen went eight of nine from the field.
Jillian Harmon added 16 points off the bench for Stanford, who beat San Francisco for the 14th straight time.
Shay Rollins, the younger sister of baseball's National League MVP Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies, led the Dons (3-4) with 19 points.
Kia Vaughn had 12 points and 11 rebounds as No. 6 Rutgers survived a battle with Saint Joseph's to hold on for a 56-50 victory.
Epiphanny Prince scored 12 points and Liberian Matee Ajavon 11 for the Scarlet Knights (4-1).
Timisha Gomez scored 14 points and Sarah Acker had 10 for Saint Joseph's.
Ashley Walker scored 25 points to propel No. 13 California to a 75-54 victory over Loyola Marymount, while Jessica Mooney scored 16 points and Christina Wirth had 15 to lead No. 18 Vanderbilt to a 68-55 upset victory over 10th-ranked Duke.
