NYKOPING, Sweden -- The U.S. Women's National Team shutout Finland, 10-0, in its third and final preliminary-round game of the 2011 Four Nations Cup to earn a spot in the championship game against Canada on Sunday (Nov. 12) at 9 a.m. EST.

"We came out flying and set the pace right off the bat with a lot of offense from a number of different lines," said Katey Stone, head coach of the 2011 U.S. Women's National Team. "We put ourselves in a position to win a tournament in November."

The U.S. opened the scoring with three goals in less than three minutes. Kendall Coyne (Palos Heights, Ill.), Jocelyne Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.) and Amanda Kessel (Verona, Wis.) each connected for a goal to put the Americans up 3-0 in the first period. Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Id.) scored at 10:56 to give the U.S. a four-goal lead at the end of the opening frame.

Kelli Stack (Brooklyn Heights, Ohio) and Coyne scored 22 seconds apart in the second period at 3:15 and 3:37, respectively. Monique Lamoureux-Kolls (Grand Forks, N.D.) and Jenny Potter (Edina, Minn.) each closed out the second period with a goal for Team USA.

Julie Chu (Fairfield, Conn.) scored her first goal of the tournament in the third period before Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.) found the back of the net with a power-play tally to secure the win and extend the U.S. Women's National Team overall record to 2-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in the tournament.
