COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Wisconsin took over the top spot on this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey Poll, following a pair of wins against St. Cloud State University last weekend. For the 12th time this season, the Badgers grabbed the top spot, accumulating 188 points and 18-of-19 first-place votes.
The University of Minnesota Duluth climbed to the No. 2 position with 162 points following a win and tie against the University of Minnesota (161), which fell to No. 3. Meanwhile, St. Lawrence University (125) and Boston College (117) remained at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
This week's action features two top-10 match-ups, including a Hockey East showdown pitting No. 5 Boston College against No. 7 University of New Hampshire.
ABOUT THE POLL: The 12th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
