U.S. FIGURE SKATING AND DISSON SKATING TEAM UP FOR BEHIND-THE-SCENES

SHOWS EXCLUSIVELY FOR ICENETWORK.COM

Colorado Springs, Colo. (Sept. 25, 2007) –

"We know how passionate ice skating fans are, and we thought this would be an opportunity to treat our fans to the behind-the-scenes, backstage view of how skating shows are produced," said Stephen Disson, president of Disson Skating.

The series, hosted by U.S. Figure Skating athletes, will tease four of Disson Skating’s 10 NBC holiday skating specials this season. The shows will air approximately one week prior to the regular telecasts on NBC and will remain available on icenetwork.com, free of charge, throughout the 2007-08 season.

“U.S. Figure Skating’s relationship with Disson Skating gives our fans a backstage pass to these dynamic and family-oriented programs,” said David Raith, executive director of U.S. Figure Skating. “The four ‘Making-of’ programs are just the latest example of how icenetwork.com continues to evolve, and how our new relationship with NBC will benefit U.S. Figure Skating for years to come.”

A U.S. Team member will go behind the scenes to host “Kurt Browning’s Gotta Skate,” which will be televised Nov. 11. Interviews will be conducted with some of the program’s skaters, including Browning, 2006 U.S. champion Sasha Cohen and Canadian champions Joannie Rochette and Jeffrey Buttle. The Temptations and Boyz II Men are the show’s musical guests.

The second “Making-of Show” will promote “Holiday Celebration on Ice,” which will air Christmas Day. “American Idol” star Clay Aiken is the musical guest and World champion Todd Eldredge is one of the show’s headliners.

The third “Making-of Show” will tease “Wynona Tribute on Ice” and feature country music legends Wynona Judd and her mother, Naomi Judd. The program will air Dec. 23 and display the skating talents of U.S. champions Rudy Galindo, Kimmie Meissner, Evan Lysacek and others.

“Progressive Fashion on Ice,” to air Jan. 20, is the fourth and final “Making-of Show.” Internationally acclaimed soprano singer and Broadway artist Sarah Brightman is the musical guest, and a host of renowned fashion designers will be on hand. The two most decorated U.S. ice dancing teams of the last decade – Naomi Lang & Peter Tchernyshev and Olympic silver medalists Tanith Belbin & Ben Agosto – will perform, as will Canadian ice dancing World champion Shae-Lynn Bourne.

After the programs appear on NBC, they will each air twice on the Style Network. Check local listings for dates and times. Other edited Disson specials will be featured on-demand on icenetwork.com. A lineup of those edited specials appears on icenetwork.com.
