When Oakley asked us to review one of the new collections from Gretchen Bleiber we were thrilled. Just off on our winters holidays to Austria, and couldn't have come at a better time.
The jacket is immensely comfortable and lightweight, but oh so warm, but not too warm you want to take it off.
It has really good shielding at the back which is really important when your skiing and falling over.
Lets not joke when you pay over $200 for a jacket you want to see results. If you want a jacket that is gonna last you year after year on the slopes and that can keep up with the slopes fashion then go for it and splash out. You will be a knock out on the slopes and looking stylish in the pictures to take home.
The jacket comes in Teal, Mint, Sand and graphite colours but I prefered the teal which gave you added protection at night as it shows up well in the dark.
Out of 10 WSR gives the product 9.5
(why it didn't get 10, it is pricy)
Snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler has won four X Games gold medals, and the journey included more than a few hill chills. We worked with her to create insulated jackets that could shield her from the cold without restricting her pipe tricks. This gem is called the Oakley TIERS SNOW JACKET, and it uses Thinsulate® to keep her warm without obtrusive bulk that can turn performance into something ugly.
The longer hem provides added coverage while the loose fit lets Gretchen bust a move. If she leaves the hood open when she launches a signature Crippler, little magnets hold it out of the way so it doesn’t distract her at a critical moment. Internal cuffs with thumbholes keep the sleeves in place, and when she’s really getting after it, underarm vents let her purge excess heat. Waterproofing and breathability are essential so this design has a 15K/20K rating that keeps environmental moisture out while letting internal moisture vapor escape. The TIERS SNOW JACKET is pure Gretchen, and you can see it in the back pleat design, the asymmetric front zip, and the button highlights at the wrist tabs and waist. It goes from halfpipe play to après ski plundering with signature style.
