The PWA World Cup Guincho Wave Contest 2007 - Day Four




More sun, more surf, but no wind. Instead, being ever competitive, many of the world’s top wave riders were eager to pitch their skills against each other in an impromptu surfing battle.

The girls went out to play too, and current world wavesailing champion Iballa Moreno (North), Nayra Alonso (Fanatic / Severne) and Anne-Marie Reichmann (Naish / Naish) were styling amongst the boys.

With a double elimination to complete in the Women’s event, everyone optimistic is crossing their fingers for some low pressure wind at the weekend.

Should the wind play ball there are some big names intent on fighting back through
Until then, Tuesday’s single elimination winner Daida Moreno, who overcame Karin Jaggi (F2 / North) in a harshly contested women’s finale, maintain their event leads.
