The 81st Ladies’ Open Gold Challenge Cup will take place at Roehampton Club, London

The 81st Ladies’ Open Gold Challenge Cup will take place at Roehampton Club, London SW15 on Saturday April 28, 2007.

This is a prestigious 36 hole stroke play scratch competition for lady professionals and amateurs.

The Gold Cup is traditionally the curtain-raiser to the year’s 36 hole events held throughout the country from April to September.   These important competitions give the top players the opportunity of honing their skills, gaining ELGA Order of Merit points and supplementing their golf practice away from county and national events.

Tracy Loveys of Remedy Oak and Joanne Oliver of Quindell will be defending the title they shared in 2006.

The event is once again sponsored by solicitors Russell-Cooke of Putney, London SW15.

The top professional prize this year is £1000 and the leading amateur will receive vouchers to the value of £350.
