Stanton to replace Medhurst in Australian Fast5 team

West Australian, Kaylia Stanton will replace an injured Nat Medhurst in the Australian Fast5 team after the shooter has failed to fully recover from a hand injury.

The shooter has seen specialists since injuring her hand and was on track to play in next weekend’s Fast5 Netball World Series, having attended the team’s training camp in Canberra a couple of weeks ago.

Australian Fast5 team coach, Stacey Marinkovich shared the disappointment with Medhurst.

“I really feel for Nat who has given everything to be available to play next weekend.

“She was doing all the right things, but it hasn’t quite made the deadline we were working towards.

Marinkovich welcomed Stanton’s elevation to the team.

“Kaylia has really impressed this year, and with her keen eye at goal, she was made for the modified rules of Fast5.

“Kaylia joined us in Canberra earlier this month working with all athletes and different combinations so I have no doubt that she’ll be able to make a smooth transition into the team.”
