Standard Life GB Senior Women's Eurobasket roster announced

Today the Standard Life GB senior women's final 12 has been confirmed for EuroBasket Women 2011 which tips off in Poland on Saturday 18 June.

The women were drawn in Group B for this year's competition and are set to face Belarus (18 June), Czech Republic (19 June), and Israel (20 June) in the first round.

Standard Life GB head coach, Tom Maher said: "We have a good hardworking group, a mixture of experienced players with new up and coming talent. We have kept a core of the squad from last year which provides consistency and a platform for continued development."

Since the squad first assembled at Surrey Sports Park on 1 May for camp they have endured a busy schedule which has seen them play nine test-games.

Maher continued: "It has been a good mixture of training and preparation games. Playing games against A level teams has been a step progression and has given the team challenges they are likely to face in EuroBasket.

"We feel confident in the work that has been put in over the last six weeks. Our preparation has been key. We have a challenging pool group and we need to ensure as individuals and as a team that we do our best."

Before heading to Poland the Standard Life GB team will face Slovakia away on Wednesday 15 June when they will hope to avenge last week's 54-65 loss in Latvia.
