Slough women crowned Indoor Champions for 2008

National Indoor Hockey Championships – Results

Slough (women) were crowned queens of the indoor game as Hockey’s Big Day In concluded at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.

In a repeat of the 2007 final, Slough beat Bowdon Hightown 5-3 to record a record 13th title win. Despite going 2-0 down, Mandy Nicholson, Alex Scott and Jane Smith scored a goal apiece with Fiona Greenham netting a brace in the Berkshire’s race to the title. It was Bowdon Hightown who took a 2-0 lead, but their 1st and 6th minute goals from captain Sally Walton and Lyndsey French were not enough as strong Slough mounted their comeback.
