Sharples called up to England staring line-up

Worcester's Gemma Sharples has been called into the starting line-up for England's RBS 6 Nations showdown against Scotland on Saturday at London Welsh RFC, kick-off 130pm.

Worcester's Gemma Sharples has been called into the starting line-up for England's RBS 6 Nations showdown against Scotland on Saturday at London Welsh RFC, kick-off 130pm.

Sharples comes off the bench to start in the backrow. She replaces the injured Maggie Alphonsi. Lichfield's Sarah Beale has also been called up to the bench.

England go into Saturday's game needing a win to keep alive their Six Nations title ambitions. If England win this year's championship, they will create history by becoming the first side to win four consecutive Six Nations.

With Beale now on the bench for England, there's also been two changes to the England A 22 who take on the Nomads on Saturday, also at London Welsh RFC, kick-off 1145am.

Saracens' Sonia Green now starts at No. 8, and Lichfield's Lois Moulding also comes into the backrow.
