Netball fans can see TeamBath’s 2009/10 Superleague squad in action for the first time at home this season for free when they take-on a National League Premier 1 select side at the University of Bath on Friday (27th November).
The pre-season fixture will see Co-operative Superleague champions TeamBath take-on a team featuring players from three National League Premier 1 sides – TeamBath Toucans, Hucclecote and Stash Blades. The invitation side will also feature members of the England men’s netball team.
Friday’s contest replaces the scheduled TeamBath v England Veterans game, which has been cancelled due to the unavailability of members of the Vets team through injury and illness.
“This is a great opportunity for netball fans to get their first glimpse of our 2009/10 squad at home,” said Jess Garland, TeamBath’s head coach. “The game is an important part of our build up to the new season and we’re pleased to be able to give people the opportunity to watch the game for free.”
The contest gets underway at 7.30pm on Friday at the University of Bath Sports Training Village.
The squad got the pre-season underway in a competition played out in the sport’s FastNet format in London at the weekend.
TeamBath will begin the defence of their Superleague title when they host Northern Thunder on Thursday 10th December in a match that will feature live on Sky Sports. That game gets underway at 8pm.
