Russia and China dominate in Moscow

Lausanne (SUI), June 4, 2007 – Russia and China dominated the operations in the fourth meet of the 2007 FINA Diving Grand Prix, held in Moscow (RUS) from May 31-June 3, by conquering all the eight gold medals at stake. The Asian delegation was more successful than the local divers, registering a total of five triumphs against three wins for Russia.

In the women’s field, the domination of China for gold was complete, with four wins in four possible events. In the individual events, the Chinese representatives also conquered the silver medal. Tania Cagnotto, from Italy, had a brilliant participation in Moscow, with the third place in the 3m springboard and the second position in the synchro 10m platform (with Noemi Batki). Divers from Russia, Ukraine and Canada were also on the podium in the women’s events.

The next meet of the FINA Diving Grand Prix 2007 (which has seven events) will take place in Madrid (ESP), from June 8-10.
