Rosie Clark wins the U23 European Champs

It was a banner day for Great Britain at the ETU European U23 triathlon Championships in Kuopio, Finland as Rosie Clarke and Ritchie Nicholls won gold.

In the women’s field, a group of five women that included Clarke, Camille Cierpik of France, and Margit Vanek of Hungary, broke away in the second turn to establish a lead which allowed them to start the bike course up 45 seconds on the field. The lead pack worked well together on the bike and extended their lead to more than two minutes going into the second transition. Clarke cruised to the finish line winning by more than 30 seconds. Hungarian Renata Koch overcame a substantial deficit after the swim and posted the fast run time of the day to win silver. Cierpik came through for the bronze.
