Rexona-Ades claim come-from-behind victory

On Friday, the leaders of the competition meet the inexperienced Kinder Voleibol of Portugal and they are strong favourites to finish the preliminary phase with a perfect mark.



Fabiana Claudino led the winners with 20 points, including four blocks, Carol Cattaz added 13 and Regiane Bidias and Monique Pavao had 12 and 10, respectively. For Pinheiros Mackenzie, Thais Souza scored 20, Tandara Caixeta 17 and Fernanda Garay 14.

In the other match Thursday, Bethania de la Cruz scored 15 points and led Dominicans Centro Deportivo Nacional to an easy victory over Kinder Voleibol in a contest between the winless teams.

The Dominicans, who a night earlier lost in five sets to Pinheiros Mackenzie, won 25-17, 25-10, 25-12 in 1 hour and 6 minutes.

Coach Marcos Kwiek utilized some of his young bench players and they didn’t dissapoint with Marianne Fersola and Niverka Marte each recording seven points, as did Sidarka Nunez. Fersola had three blocks and Marte served three aces. Portuguese Sara Bernardo had 10 points.

Centro Nacional play against Scavolini Pesaro and Finasa Osasco meet Pinheiros Mackenzie in the other two games of Friday's triple-header.
