REGINA – Émilie Heymans of St-Lambert, Que., took the gold on women’s 10-metre on Saturday at the Winter Nationals diving competition.
On women’s 10-metre tower, Heymans posted a big win with 1,132.45 points for her 26th career national title and second victory this week. Roseline Filion of Laval was second at 976.90 and Marie-Éve Marleau of Laval third at 950.95.
‘’I’m really satisfied with that performance,’’ said Heymans, the 2003 world champion on tower. ‘’I was consistent through all three rounds so I’m definitely on the right track. I’m really pleased that I’m posting consistently strong performances. I just need to add more polish to my dives.’’
On women’s three-metre synchro, Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal and Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., won gold with Véronique Lemieux and Sabrina Beaupré of Montreal second and Janie Potvin and Pamela Ware of Montreal third.
