Record Prize Money for Players – Better Service for Journalists



The 2009 Kuwait and Qatar Open will have new record prize money of US$ 300,000. The winner of the Men’s and Women’s Singles event will receive 30,000 respectively; the runner-ups earn 15,000. The prize money has been extended to the round of 32 in Men’s and Women’s singles. The title in Doubles is remunerated with 8,000; the ones for the U21 with US$ 2,000. Women and men have the same prize money in all respective events.



Back to the Olympic Cradle
On 17 Events plus the Grand Finals, the tour will stop among others in Sheffield (England), Rabat (Morocco), Bremen (Germany), two times in China as well as in Seoul (Korea Republic). About 21 years after table tennis made its Olympic debut, the ITTF Pro Tour will bring for the second time (after 2001) world’s best table tennis players to the Korean capital again.
