Quins Ladies take the sting out of Wasps

Sunday 26th April saw Harlequin Ladies end their League campaign with a triumphant victory over London Wasps II.

A beautiful sunny day belied the intensity of the occasion as Quins Ladies travelled far from home to Twyford Avenue.  Waiting for them was a Wasps side hungry for a win after their close defeat at the Stoop some months before.  Passionate rivals with Wasps, Quins Ladies count many of their opposition as close friends but these friendships were set aside for the next 80 minutes.

Quins Ladies dominated the match from the onset, fighting for every inch of spring grass and their efforts were suitably rewarded with one of the most satisfying wins of the season giving Quins Ladies their third successive League conquest with no points scored against them.

A final score of 55-0 demonstrates how much the side has developed under the expert tutelage of Head Coach Benjamin Thurlow and the team’s immense hard work this season.  Quins Ladies look forward to a summer of sevens and touch, though rather less serious than the winter months, nonetheless will be stamped with the distinctive class of Harlequin Ladies.
