San Juan, Puerto Rico, March 10, 2010 – Yamileska Yantin is already staking her claim for a place on Puerto Rico’s FIVB World Grand Prix team by reaching the 2,000 point milestone in the country’s Volleyball League after picking up 15 points for Corozal despite their 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-23) loss against Toa Baja on Sunday.

The 25-year-old, who played in last year’s World Grand Prix where Puerto Rico finished tenth, now has 2,002 points in total and has become the eleventh player in the leagues' history to surpass the mark.

Puerto Rico are grouped in Pool C to begin with for the World Grand Prix this year where they will face China, Netherlands and Thailand in Chengdu, China before playing matches in Chinese Taipei and Mokpo, Korea.

The competition is set to run from August 6-August 29 with the final round taking place in Ningbo, China.
