MEMBERS of the Great Britain Paralympic Powerlifting Team fly to the United Arab Emirates next week to compete in the prestigious IPC Khorfakkan International Championship.
Essex athlete Adam Alderman and Nottinghamshire's Natalie Blake will be competing in the third edition of the annual tournament, which will see some of the world's best Paralympic powerlifters in action between October 15-19.
Participating athletes include 14 medallists from the Beijing Paralympics in 2008, and 21 who won medals at the 2010 World Championships in Malaysia.
"This is a great chance for Adam and Natalie to get valuable experience of competing on the world stage," said British Weight Lifting performance manager Fiona Lothian.
"They will get to see what they potentially could be up against in London next year, and give them chance to get used to the big stage."
