British international pole vault star Kate Dennison has appointed Macesport to handle her media and public relations profile.
Macesport, Britain’s leading independent sports pr agency, are tasked with dealing with the growing media interest in the 25-year-old athlete.
Media interest has risen dramatically in Dennison following her elevation into the top 10 of the world pole vault rankings – breaking the British record three times in the past six months.
Loughborough-based Dennison said: “I have been overwhelmed by the interest shown in me by the media in the past few months.
“It’s important that I have specialist advisors who can handle all my media interests professionally and expertly.
“In modern sport, I fully appreciate the importance of strong, positive relationships with all sections of the media.
“I have chosen Macesport because as the leaders in their field they are former athletes themselves and fully understand sport and the media.”
Macesport managing director Paul Mace said: “Kate’s primary focus is to concentrate all her energies into continuing to develop into one of Britain’s leading track and field stars.
“Our brief is to help her do that by handling all her media and public relations activity.
“There has been a substantial interest in media interest in Kate and this is likely to continue in the run-up to Beijing 2012.
“Kate is one of the fastest-growing success stories in British athletics and we will use our expertise and skills to ensure she enjoys excellent relations with all the media and develops a strong and positive media profile.”
Dennison joins a Macesport elite athlete representation unit which has developed the media careers of Stan Collymore, Derby County’s Robbie Savage and also includes England hockey ace Crista Cullen.
