PENTATHLON WORLD CUP SOFIA: WOMEN'S INDIVIDUAL FINALISTS


UIPM 2019 Pentathlon World Cup Sofia kicked off today in Bulgaria with 80 athletes taking part in the qualifying round for the Women's Individual Final.


The individual world champions from the last two years – Anastasiya Prokopenko (BLR) and Gulnaz Gubaydullina (RUS) – qualified, as did London 2012 Olympic champion Laura Asadauskaite (LTU).

Another four athletes ranked in the world’s top 10 – Uliana Batashova (RUS), Natalya Coyle (IRL), Marie Oteiza (FRA) and Kate French (GBR) – earned the right to compete in the final on Friday, April 12.

The top-performing athlete in the qualifying round, for the second successive Pentathlon World Cup, was Natsumi Tomonaga (JPN).

Pentathlon World Cup Sofia continues tomorrow (April 11) with qualifying for the Men's Individual Final. The finals take place from April 12-14.

Live stream of the finals will be available on UIPM TV and up-to-date results of all competitions are available at the UIPM website.
