Pamela Ware seventh at world junior diving championships

AACHEN, Germany – Pamela Ware of St-Hubert, Que., finished seventh on the women’s three-mete. 

Canada ended the six-day competition with two medals. Olympian Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., won silver on Wednesday on women’s three-metre and Rachel Kemp of Victoria took bronze on Thursday on women’s platform. Canadian divers also posted three fourth place finishes and qualified 13 finalists in 10 of the 14 events.


On women’s three-metre in the 14-15 age group, Lin Qu led China to a 1-2 finish with 437.45 points. Wanying He was second at 410.25 and Annabelle Smith of Australia third at 372.65.

Ware squeaked into the 12 th and last spot for the final by 0.30 points in the morning preliminaries then improved five spots with a consistent three-dive performance in the final for 355.90 points.

Kemp was 18 th in the preliminaries and eliminated.
