The Chicago Bandits have teamed up with the Pennsylvania Rebellion and announced today that they will co-host their annual open tryouts for the 2015 team on Sunday, May 24th starting at 9 a.m. at the Ballpark at Rosemont.
Members of the Pennsylvania Rebellion coaching staff will also be on hand to participate in the 2015 tryouts.
Tryouts will be open to women, ages 21 and over, who have completed eligibility at a four-year institution. A payment of $40 must be sent to the Chicago Bandits prior to tryouts. Payments can be mailed to 27 Jennie Finch Way, Rosemont, IL, 60018 or faxed to 630-396-3095.
Participants are required to bring their equipment, including a glove, cleats, catcher's gear, batting helmet, bat and batting gloves.
Players will be judged based on their hitting, fielding, position specific skills, base running and 40-yard time, as well as arm strength and knowledge of the game.
Fans are welcome to come out and watch potential Bandits players try out for a spot on the team free of charge.
Following the tryouts, select players will be asked to stay and suit up for the Bandits as they take on the Pennsylvania Rebellion in an exhibition game beginning at 5:35 p.m. Selected players will take the field for both the Bandits and Rebellion in an effort to earn their spot.
The Bandits and the Rebellion will make their selections for the 2015 roster spot immediately following the exhibition game.
The Bandits have had great success in recent years with its tryouts and have signed six current players on the roster over the past four seasons, including 2014 NPF Home Run Champion Brittany Cervantes, Danielle Zymkowitz, Natalie Hernandez, Kirsten Verdun and Alex Booker.
