This visit will precede her being proclaimed as the Patron of the Pinewood Gym Club in Berkshire, one of the biggest and most productive club-members of British Gymnastics.
On Wednesday, the 19th and Thursday, 20th September, over two sessions per day, Khorkina will meet and give precious champion’s tips to young gymnasts from various BG Clubs and to children from local schools.
During her competitive career from 1994 to 2004, Khorkina won 7 Olympic medals of which two were Gold on A.Bars; Nine (9) Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze medals from World Championships, of which an unprecedented three were All-around World titles, and a record 20 European medals (13 Gold, 5 Silver, and 2 Bronze), of which three were European All-around titles.
Khorkina also introduced eight new moves on various apparatus, named after her in the International Code of Points - more than any other gymnast in the histroy of the sport.
Her phenomenal mastery on A.Bars stamped with two Olympic, five World and six European titles, together with all her numerous record- achivements, won her the by-name, THE Queen.
Since December 2004 she has been Vice-President of the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation
