Hypo started the game with an open defence and with goals from their Hungarian players. The quick Hypo attacks were impossible to stop at the beginning and the Austrian team proved how well their players know each other on the court.
The guest Győri ETO always made a mistake when they could have a chance to come closer and Hypo took a 10-6 lead. However, the Hypo players could not continue on this high speed and Győr came back to 10-8 by the 21st minute.
The Hungarian defence improved towards the end of the first half and it was only 15-13 at half time. Győr could have come even closer, but Pálinger and Spiridon made bad passes.
Hypo started with an open defence after the break and they made it 18-14 in the early minutes of the second half. A rather chaotic period followed and Hornyák scored to make it minus one a few minutes later.
