NGR - Nigeria captain, Udoka storm camp, as coach Cook calls up Ojelabi, Adebeli




Udoka who was been expected by the Kevin Cook led coachin crew arrived for the all important title defence with Nigeria taking on the Lioness of Cameroon on September 21 in group-B.

The Nigerian captain was been expected alongside Mactabene Amachere and forward Rashidat Sodiq from their base but only Udoka whose kid brother Imeh also plays for the Nigeria men's team.

And to be certain of not being cought offgguard by the non-arrival of Amachere and Sodiq the coaching have extended invitation to 2005 match winner for Nigeria in Abuja when it hosted and retianed the championship, First Bank basketball club offguard, Funmilayo Ojelabi-Ogunleye and youthful point-guard, Amaka Adibeli.

According to information reaching www.fiba-africa.com, coach Cook and his assistants Scott Nnaji and Adewumi Aderemi were impressed by the form of both Ojelabi-Ogunleye and Adibeli when the national team took on their team First Bank basketball club in friendly game to access the level of preparedness of the players in the national camp.

The final list of the Nigerian team is expected to be announced Tuesday as the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF have concluded arrangement to fly the team out on Wednesday.
