New Idea Australian Netball League action fires up tomorrow

The New Idea Australian Netball League (ANL) fires into action tomorrow with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) taking on the Canberra Darters in the opening match of the competition, now in its third year.

Round 1 is the first of six rounds that will be played throughout July, August and September, culminating in a Finals Series weekend on 11 – 12 September.

The 2010 ANL Grand Final will be played on 12 September at Waverley Netball Centre in Melbourne.

Featuring up and coming netballers from all around Australia and Asia, the 2010 ANL season promises to once again be a breeding ground for new talent with the competition set to deliver an impressive display of ability, skill and athleticism.

The 2009 Grand Final rematch takes place in Round 3 when defending premiers Victorian Fury meet the AIS in Canberra.

Singapore returns to the ANL for its second year with its inclusion adding an extra dimension to the competition, giving players the opportunity to gain international experience playing against a different style of netball.

ANL action kicks off tomorrow with the local-ACT derby, Canberra Darters face the AIS at the AIS Arena in Canberra at 7pm.
