New Balance Ladies 1080v2s
Having sported New Balance’s red, Ladies 1080s for the past year, I was excited to get the chance to take the 1080v2s out for a road test …
Weight
The 1080v2s are New Balance’s latest premium neutral running shoes. My grey, purple and green numbers felt lighter than my 1080s. This was no doubt down to the fact that the 10.5oz 1080v2s use New Balance’s new N2 cushioning technology, which basically means that less material is needed to deliver the same amount of comfort.
Comfort
The shoes were extremely comfortable, even on their first outing; New Balance’s Abzorb and N-ERGY technologies clearly contributing to the soft-cushioned heel-strikes and the general smooth ride.
Breathability
The shoes were extremely breathable, thanks to the refined airmesh upper.
Size
As a UK size 6, I bought size 6 1080s. However the 1080v2s I tried were a size 7 and provided some welcome extra space to accommodate my thick Hilly socks. As with my B width 1080s, the B width 1080v2s provided a welcome snug fit for my narrow feet.
Overall
After a couple of miles of pounding the streets, I hardly knew I had the 1080v2s on – perhaps the biggest compliment of all.
