Maputo, Mozambique, February 8, 2011 – The women's team came out on top in Pool E of the CAVB Continental Beach Volleyball Cup at Maputo, Mozambique as the sub-zonal phase of London 2012 Olympic qualifying finalized. The competition was the ninth and the last after the tournaments already settled in Benin, Togo, Rwanda, Sudan, Senegal, Namibia, Sierra Leone and Cameroon.
The competition showed three counties participating in each category and each country participated with two teams in a round robin format.
Mozambique women’s teams followed the footsteps of their men counterparts by also beating Zimbabwe in the first round and Swaziland in the final. Zimbabwe secured the silver of the round robin tour at the expense of Swaziland.
