Melissa Reid 5th in European championship
| England’s Melissa Reid was fifth in the European ladies’ amateur championship at Golf National, France – just two shots off a medal place. The British strokeplay champion from Chevin in Derbyshire was two-over par for the 72-hole tournament. She shared fifth place with Sandra Gal of Germany. The championship was won by Sweden’s Caroline Hedwall who beat Spain’s Carlota Ciganda, the British amateur champion, in a three-hole play-off. The players had tied on five-under 283. English scores: 290 Melissa Reid (Chevin) 72, 73, 70, 75. |
