Medals for Britain at IPC Table Tennis European Championships

Paralympian and Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Cathy Mitton led the British charge, winning individual bronze in the women’s class 2 event.

She beat France’s Florence Gossiaux in the bronze medal play-off to claim the final podium spot, behind Italy’s Clara Podda with gold and France’s Isabelle Lafaye with silver.

Mitton then teamed up with Sara Head and Jane Campbell to take the class 2 and 3 team bronze, beating Slovakia to claim Britain’s second third place finish.

The 2007 IPC European Table Tennis Championships took place in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia from October 10 to 21, 2007 and was an opportunity for Britain’s athletes to score ranking points for qualification ahead of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.

The full Female squad at the championships included Cathy Mitton (York, Yorkshire), Dzaier Neil (London), Sara Head (Pontypridd, South Wales), Jane Campbell (London), Leanne Stephen (Grimsby, Lincolnshire) and Claire Robertson (Flintshire, North Wales).
