RIO – Kelly MacDonald of Edmonton and Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal were third in the women’s 10-metre synchro in Saturday’s diving competition at the Pan Am Games.
On women’s three-mete synchro, Laura Sanchez and Paola Espinosa of Mexico were the winners at 307.80, Ariel Rittenhouse and Kelci Bryant of the U.S., second at 305.10 and Benfeito and MacDonald, in their competitive debut together, third at 276.60.
‘’We produced a very good score for our first time together,’’ said Benfeito. ‘’Our styles are quite different so it was very important to focus on the synchronization. We just went in with the mindset to dive to the best of our abilities.’’
