MARLIES SCHILD WINS WORLD CUP SLALOM IN SPINDLERUV MLYN, CZE


SPINDLERUV MLYN, CZE (January 6th, 2008) – Last season’s Ladies World Cup slalom champion Marlies Schild of Austria got her third slalom victory of the season, winning today in Spindleruv Mlyn, CZE.

There were no Canadians entered in the race.

Schild won in a time of one minute 46.35 seconds and with 300 points she now trails Austria’s Nicole Hosp by just five points for the lead in the slalom discipline standings.

Slovakia’s Veronika Zuzulova finished second in 1:46.35 with Maria Riesch of Germany third in 1:47.53.

The Ladies World Cup next heads to Maribor, SLO for Giant Slalom and a Slalom race January 12th and January 13th, 2008.
