Making Waves In Qingdao

The Opening Ceremony will get the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games on Friday 8 August and ISAF will be bringing you all the latest news from the sailing events in Qingdao on our Olympic microsite and via Making Waves.

Will Great Britain top the medal table again? Does a third gold medal await for Ben Ainslie or Robert Schedit? Can Alessandra Sensini or Barbara Kendall win another gold, becoming the most successful female Olympic sailor of all time? How will team China perform?

Over the coming three weeks we'll find out the answers to all these questions and more and no doubt be surprised, amazed and enthralled along the way.

The ISAF Olympic Games microsite is up and running at www.sailing.org/olympics where you can follow the Beijing Games every step of the way. When racing gets underway on Friday the site will feature live mark-by-mark roundings and results along with all the latest decisions from the Jury. There will also be comprehensive coverage of all the racing and unique behind the scenes features - all brought to life by fantastic photography from Getty Images.

Before the Games gets underway you can take a look at our in-depth history section, learn more about the Games' venue and of course find out more about the competing sailors and the events.

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are upon us. Enjoy!
