Nashville, TN - Organizers of the MARKETING WOMEN'S SPORTS conference being held November 5-6 in Nashville, Tennessee have announced that renowned sportscaster, Lesley Visser has been named the official Chairperson for the event.

"Lesley is and has been one of the most visible and strongest pioneers for women in sports for years. Her dedication to proving and paving the way for other women in sports is inspirational. Having her support of this conference is wonderful and we appreciate her efforts a great deal," states Women's Sports Cares President, Catherine Masters.

Visser's credentials are substantial. She added another first to her long and prestigious trailblazing career, as the first woman to be recognized by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It makes me proud to be in her company today.” In her more than 30 years in broadcasting she has worked for all of the major networks and covered all of the major sporting events worldwide including: numerous Super Bowls, the World Series, the Olympics, the US Open, the Triple Crown, the World Figure Skating Championships, the Final Four and the NBA Finals.

"I am honored to be the chairperson of the first annual "marketing women's sports" event. It is because of efforts like this that women can participate and be recognized in sports at every level. Add my name to the list of people who celebrate this conference!"

The conference will be held at the Nashville Marriott Airport Hotel and will include exhibits and discussion panels. The panels will include information on getting sponsors, obtaining more media coverage, creating innovative marketing campaigns and broadcasting games and events on broadcast, cable TV and the internet. Top industry experts and well known women's sports figures will be in attendance and leading many of the discussion panels.

The conference is designed to help women's sports leagues, teams and individuals gather the knowledge, the information and the contacts they need to be more successful.
