On the final day of action at the Edgbaston Priory Club, Petra Kvitova battled past a brilliant Ashleigh Barty to claim her first Aegon Classic Birmingham title.
The Czech, who had accepted a wild card into the WTA Premier tournament, fought back from losing her first set of the week to clinch a compelling 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory.
The achievement marks Kvitova's opening title since her return to tennis and is the first time she's lifted a trophy on grass since her 2014 Wimbledon triumph.
Barty, who was making her main draw debut in Edgbaston, had nothing but praise for the two-time Wimbledon champion:
The world No.77 had a double dose of action and was soon back on court with Casey Dellacqua in a final against Hao-Ching Chan (TPE) and Shuai Zhang (CHN).
The Australian fourth seeds, who had won the title for the first time in 2013, resisted a second set comeback from their opponents and clinched a 6-1, 2-6 [10-8] victory.
