As the competition seasons are yet to begin over here in the northern hemisphere, you will pretty much find most of the pro tour down in South Africa or out in the Caribbean training.
But over in Australia they are full swing into their summer and having some great winds and swell to play in!
Last week saw the regular kitesurfing extravaganza, Kitestock go off with a bang over on the West coast of Australia.
Kitestock 2008 was held at Dongara/Point Denison, which 320 keen kitesurfers turned up to attend the 3 day epic kitesurf session.
As well as the hundreds of kiters coming from all over Australia and other parts of the world for this event, many of the top brands joined in to show off their newest equipment. There was gear out to demo and try from Slingshot, Cabrinha, Ozone, Best, Airush, North and New.
The wind delivered each day and kicked up to 25knots in the afternoons for everyone to get out, with the big air comp being run on the Saturday there was a real show put on for the hundreds of spectators. The wind was still pumping late into the Sunday evening as some were heading home.
It was a hugely successful event that not only had great wind for all to enjoy but the food and evening entertainment that was put on made it a hell of a weekend.
The final event of the GKA Kite-Surf season saw sparks fly on the water as Prea delivered four days of perfect strapless freestyle conditions and sensational action last week.
