England international Jodi Ewart (pictured right) equalled her career best score on the US college circuit to finish second in a high quality field of 96 players at the Bruin Wave Invitational in California.
Her four-under par 68 was the lowest final round score and included five birdies and one bogey.
Jodi, from Catterick, Yorkshire, was five-under for the tournament with rounds of 69, 74, 68 over the par-72, 6282yd course. She was three shots behind the winner, Danielle King (Pepperdine 67, 72,69.)
The 22-year-old will turn professional in May when she graduates from the University of New Mexico. She will join the US Duramed Futures Tour and has already announced that she will not be available for selection for the 2010 GB&I Curtis Cup team.
The tournament field included the Spanish aces Carlota Ciganda (Arizona State) and Belen Mozo (Southern California) who finished joint fifth and joint seventh respectively. Ciganda scored 72, 71 and 72 for 215; Mozo 68, 76 and 72. Italy's Giulia Molinaro (Arizona State) tied for seventh place with scores of 73, 74 and 69.
