Japan finished fifth at the last FIVB Girls' Youth World Championship in Thailand

Colorado, USA,  The Japan girls' youth team will continue their preparations for the FIVB Girls' Youth World Championship later this year when they travel to the United States for a training camp from February 25-March 4.

The Japan squad will be hosted by the US women's team and will train at the American Sports Center in Orange County, California. They will also have the chance to hone their skills in friendly matches against local junior clubs.

Japan qualified for the Girls' Youth World Championship, scheduled for August 12-21 in Turkey, by clinching gold at the Girls' Youth Asian Championship last May in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They will be joined by fellow Asian teams China and Thailand, who finished second and third respectively.

At the last World Championship in Thailand in 2009, Japan's girls finished fifth.
