Uganda earned their highest ever placing of seventh during the penultimate session of the Vitality Netball World Cup today.

The Sunshine Girls - ranked second in the world - had endured a disappointing campaign, missing out on the semi-finals for the first time since 1995, but ensured they finished on a high with a 68-50 win over Malawi.

Earlier on, Uganda won the all-African clash with tournament debutants Zimbabwe to claim their best World Cup result.
