Jacobellis Wins SBX World Cup Opener

CHAPELCO, Argentina (Sept. 13) - Three-time X Games gold medalist Lindsey Jacobellis (Stratton Mountain, VT) busted open the snowboardcross World Cup season in a way only she could - dominating a stacked international field to win the first race in the eight competition season schedule in Argentina on Saturday.The win marked Jacobellis' 15th World Cup career victory.

"I'm happy. I'm a competitive girl so if I start I want to win. Now, I can go home and tell my coach that he did a great job," Jacobellis said.

Jacobellis was followed by Brooke Shaw (Litchfirls, CT) in sixth and Marni Yamada (Seattle, WA) in seventh. Callan Chythlook-Sifsof (Girdwood, AK) finished 16th.

The snowboardcross World Cup competition continues in December in Arosa, Switzerland.
