|VALLE NEVADO, Chile (Sept. 29) - "Lindsey was landed on when the girl behind her carried too much speed into a jump. Instead of aiming around her, she went directly into her and wiped her out," said Head Coach Peter Foley. "She got back up and ended up passing two girls when they crashed, but she wasn't hurt." |
A threat in both SBX and halfpipe, Jacobellis cracked the season open on Sept. 1 finishing second in the first World Cup halfpipe held in New Zealand. Watanabe, a 2006 Olympian, led every round before finishing third in the semifinal and moving on to win the small final for fifth place. He was also fifth Wednesday.
The World Cup SBX calendar will take a four-month hiatus before firing back up Feb. 1 in Leysin, Switzerland.
