“I am mad at myself. I should have qualified for the second run and I didn’t do that. It is an opportunity to race at home in front of this amazing crowd and we did not take advantage of that today,” Brydon said.

As for other Canadian results Britt Janyk (Whistler, BC) placed 40th and Marie-Pier Préfontaine (St-Sauveur, QC) was 54th. Gail Kelly (Ste-Anges de Beauce, QC) and hometown hero Christina Lustenberger (Invermere, BC) failed to finish the first run.

“It’s a tough day. I was really looking forward to this and not to finish is really disappointing. It would have been nice to have a good race today with all of the people here supporting me,” said Lustenberger.

“TELUS presents the Panorama World Cup” continues tomorrow with a Slalom. Brydon, Desforges, Anna Goodman (Pointe Claire, QC), Megan Ryley (Toronto, ON), Kate Ryley (Toronto, ON) and Eve Routhier (Sherbrooke, QC) will be racing for Canada.

You can catch all the action on CBC Country Canada at noon ET and see an encore presentation of the Pontiac Alpine Ski Series on CBC at 12:30 Monday morning.
