IPC delegation head to London for 2012 Paralympic Games Review
Members of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) are heading to Great Britain next week to be updated on the progress made by the London 2012 Paralympic Games Organizing Committee which are less than two years away.
At the seventh Project Review, a nine strong IPC contingent led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Xavier Gonzalez, will review a range of topics over three days (20-22 September) including Operational Integration, Arrivals and Departures, Broadcast, Transport, Technology, Brand and Marketing, Commercial, and Communications
The IPC will also be given an update on the Organizing Committee's Games Maker recruitment programme which was launched in July and aims to find 70,000 volunteers to work on the London 2012 Games. They will also receive a tour of a number of venues that will be used in 2012.
Xavier Gonzalez, the IPC's Chief Executive Officer, said: "With less than two years to go until the Games this is a very important meeting to receive progress updates and check that everything is still on schedule to deliver a highly successful Paralympic Games in London.
"As well as receiving updates, the three days will be about sharing ideas and knowledge to ensure that the Games are a distinctive and attractive event for the public, sponsors and media alike."
The London 2012 Paralympic Games will take place from 29 August until 9 September 2012.
