Investec Women's Hockey League previews

LEICESTER have leaders Canterbury in their sights in the Investec Women's
Hockey League Premier Division - but they will have to get past University
of Birmingham this Saturday first.

Three wins in a row - most recently a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sutton
Coldfield - have seen Leicester maintain their place in the top three
despite their October defeat to leaders Canterbury.

"Having last weekend off didn't help with continuity," said Manager Sue
Holwell. "We're getting into a nice patch of consistency now. We had
virtually a second team playing at the start of the season, but we've got
most of our players back so it's starting to look good."

Their five Olympians will be welcomed back to the club by the local Mayor at
a special event this Saturday prior to the game.

Meanwhile, leaders Canterbury will look to maintain their three-point lead
with a trip to second-bottom Olton and West Warwickshire.

Level with Leicester, third-placed Surbiton entertain Slough, while Sutton
Coldfield travel to Bowdon Hightown with both teams looking to bounce back
from defeats two weeks ago.

After losing to leaders Sevenoaks last weekend, third-placed Ipswich will be
looking to return to winning ways when they entertain fourth-placed St
Albans in the Investec Women's Conference East.

Meanwhile, Sevenoaks go to Chelmsford, who have just one win in their seven
matches so far.

Ben Rhydding are still in search of their first league win of the season in
the Investec Women's Conference North, but they have a tough clash with
leaders Beeston this Saturday, who have only lost one match so far.

And in the Investec Women's Conference West, undefeated leaders Buckingham
take on third-placed Trojans at Stowe, while second-placed Isca aim to beat
hosts Barnes Hounslow Ealing and keep pace with their rivals.
