National Sailing Hall of Fame Sets First Annual Induction

NASCAR has Charlotte, Rock and Roll has Cleveland, and one can hardly watch sports on TV without hearing about Hall of Fame inductees in basketball (Springfield), baseball (Cooperstown) and tennis (Newport). Now sailing will, too, with the National Sailing Center & Hall of Fame (NSHOF) set to honor its first class of inductees on October 23, 2011, during ceremonies scheduled to take place at San Diego Yacht Club in California.

Perth 2011 Set To Break Records

Today at the ISAF Annual Conference, ISAF President Göran Petersson announced Perth, Australia as the host venue for the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships. The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) has so far received 661 entries from 72 nations for the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships.

Britain’s sailors claimed their first medals of the Miami World Cup regatta with gold going to the Sonar trio of John Robertson, Hannah Stodel and Steve Thomas, and bronze to SKUD duo Alexandra Rickham and Niki Birrell, as the Paralympic classes wrapped up their race series.
